In 2026, 8,000 LADA Iskra Cars to Be Produced in St. Petersburg

The St. Petersburg Automobile Plant plans to increase production of LADA Iskra vehicles to 8,000 units in 2026. However, actual volumes will depend on market conditions, according to the city's Governor Alexander Beglov.
"The full model range has been mastered on the new assembly line. In 2025, we produced 3,000 vehicles, and in 2026, we plan to increase output to 8,000. The actual volume will depend on the market situation," he said.
According to the governor, equipment modernization was completed by September, after which the plant moved to series production, RIA Novosti reports.
Alexander Beglov noted that St. Petersburg is home to AvtoVAZ's Engineering Center — a branch of the company's research and technical center. Its specialists are involved in developing and supporting the production of components for LADA vehicles. The governor also recalled that the agreement to launch production of the LADA Iskra at the St. Petersburg plant was signed during PMEF-2025 (St. Petersburg International Economic Forum).
