Tank 300 to Be Assembled at Avtotor

Kaliningrad-based Avtotor will begin contract assembly of the Tank 300 SUV in the second quarter of 2026. The automotive holding company has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China's Great Wall Motor Company, Avtotor's press service reported.
The Russian-assembled Tank 300 will be offered in Drive, Premium, City Drive, and City Premiumtrim levels, powered by a 2-liter engine producing 218 horsepower mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Two interior color options will be available — black and black-red — along with five exterior colors.
All TANK 300 SUVs are adapted to the climatic and road conditions of the Russian market: they come equipped with a winter package that includes heating for all seats, steering wheel, windshield and rear window, rearview mirrors, washer nozzles and rearview camera washer, as well as anti-corrosion body protection.
Avtotor CEO Evgeny Petukhov noted that the new cooperation involves a gradual deepening of production technology for the brand's vehicles and an increase in localization levels. Zhang Junxue, President of Great Wall Motor Rus, in turn, suggested that collaboration with the Kaliningrad manufacturer may not be limited to just one SUV. He described the partnership as strategic, adding that it is only just beginning. The vehicles will be sold through the official Tank dealer network in 49 Russian cities.
Every SUV coming off Avtotor's assembly line will undergo quality inspection according to GWM standards. As RBC Kaliningrad reported in February, Avtotor will expand its model line of Eonyx electric vehicles. The plant currently produces three models of this electric car brand: Eonyx City (M2), Eonyx Profi Pickup, and Cargo.
Under the current Special Investment Contract with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, the company is implementing a project to create a production cluster for electric vehicles and automotive components in the region. The investment volume exceeds 70 billion rubles.
All the main new products of the Russian automotive industry — from the new Volga to the updated UAZ and GAZelles — will be discussed and analyzed at "Auto+Automechanika Moscow" from May 12 to 14, 2026, at the Timiryazev Center.
