Russian factories previously owned by Toyota and Volkswagen are planned to be relaunched in 2026. Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov announced to the State Duma that the production sites located in St. Petersburg and the Nizhny Novgorod Region will be restarted:
"We plan to reboot the remaining two plants: the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg and the former Volkswagen plant in the Nizhny Novgorod Region," the Minister stated.
He also noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering introducing additional instruments to protect Russian business investments from the consequences of a potential withdrawal of foreign manufacturers.
Such large-scale changes require not only time but also modern solutions in the areas of:
- Production and assembly technologies,
- Logistics and component supplies,
- Equipment, tools, and service maintenance.
And that is exactly what we are going to discuss at the international exhibition «Auto+Automechanika Moscow», to be held from May 12 to 14, 2026, at the Timiryazev Center.
